CONSTRUCTING A SOCCER STADIUM IN A OPEN PITS OF THE MINES

 Most of metals and coal are found near the surface of the earth and to obtain them open pit system is used. Open-pit mines are used when deposits of commercially useful minerals or rock are found near the surface; Open-pit mines are dug on benches, which describe vertical levels of the hole. These benches are usually on four meter to sixty meter intervals, depending on the size of the machinery that is being used. Many quarries do not use benches, as they are usually shallow.

Most walls of the pit are generally dug on an angle less than vertical, to prevent and minimize damage and danger from rock falls. This depends on how weathered the rocks are, and the type of rock, and also how many structural weaknesses occur within the rocks, such as a fault, shears, joints or foliations.

The walls are stepped. The inclined section of the wall is known as the batter, and the flat part of the step is known as the bench or brem. The steps in the walls help prevent rock falls continuing down the entire face of the wall.    

Constructing a stadium in the pits
The benches of the pit can serve as stands were seat can be mounted. The benches are not all in line with each other, for stand to be made some of the bench must be reconstructed. Benches are mainly made up of rocks thus it can be easy to reconstruct them with concrete.     

If the hole is too deep or wide, it can be reduced to certain degree to suit stadium construction. The reduction of the pit can be done by the process called rehabilitation. After the mining is complete   land rehabilitation is done to cover up these holes. The process of returning the land to some degree of its former state. After the pit is rehabilitated, the soccer field can be layered out. The best thing about building stadium in hole is that you don’t need to build the stadium wall or stand supporters as the pit benches act as supporting system. Little work or money is needed to build this stadium.  

 

                                           

The stadium must be covered at the top to prevent water and wind to get inside.

Underground water from mines

As mines are drugged underground water found in this hole are stored in tanks or small dams. This water can be use to water the green grass in the soccer field, for toilets or Olympic standard    swimming pool can be constructed beside the stadium.
